Warner Bros. has kept most of the details surrounding Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them but luckily, they’ve kept us up to date with casting news. Recently, it was revealed that Eddie Redmayne had bagged the lead role and now we’ve got our female lead as well.
Fantastic Beasts started life as a fictional text written by Newt Scamander in JK Rowling’s world but became a real text in 2001. It serves as a guide to many weird and wonderful magical creatures inhabiting the Potter universe. Redmayne will be playing Newt in the planned trilogy, as he embarks on his journey to write the book.
Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice) will be playing Porpentina, who goes by Tina, a young NY witch who Newt runs into during his search for magical creatures. With the screenplay being written by JK Rowling and the film set to be directed by David Yates, who helmed the final four Potter flicks, Fantastic Beasts looks set to be a roaring success and will hit theatres in November of 2016.
