Jake Quickenden has unveiled his debut track “I Want You” on SoundCloud. The X Factor and I’m A Celebrity participant is due to embark on his ‘Laid Bare’ tour next month, playing a total of 11 dates across the UK. On his tour, it is thought he will be playing songs from his EP as well as various cover tracks. Quickenden took part in X Factor in 2014, and finished I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in 2nd place in the same year.
Quickenden said in a recent interview, “what I love the most is that throughout the last two years it has been the public who have fuelled a career for me, they voted on ‘The X Factor’ and they voted for me on ‘I’m a Celebrity’. Now they are still in my corner. They’ve enabled me to live the dream, to make those promises I made to those important people in my life come true and I am so grateful“. He also said “I’ve had near to one hundred jobs, sacked from most, but the love has always been music. From McDonald’s, to footballer and then lifeguard, I’ve never neglected my first love. This is my chance to show people the artist that I want to be, the music is on my terms”.
It was a smart move jumping from X Factor to I’m a Celebrity as it gave Jake Quickenden a chance to show the UK who he actually is and for this the public has fallen in love with him and want to see more from him. Listen to “I Want You” below.
