The Pyramid Stage field at Glastonbury was packed last weekend to see the star, Lionel Richie play his most famous hits like “Hello” and “Say You Say Me”. The surprise act of the festival has drawn the biggest crowd of this year’s Glastonbury Festival, with at least 100,000 people estimated to have watched him perform. The soul singer confessed been astonished by the crowd response, telling the audience: “This is unbelievable. I’m intimidated because you know the words better than I do“.
Many revellers wore hand-made T-shirts and flags in his honour and sang along to his famous songs. Richie’s performance in the festival’s traditional “legend” slot will be remembered as one of this year’s highlights. His set included hits like “All Night Long”, “We Are The World”, “Easy” and “Three Times A Lady”. A terrific moment, not to have missed!
