London’s National Portrait Gallery opened its doors yesterday (July 2) to all the fans of legendary actress Audrey Hepburn, who became a sweetheart of Hollywood’s Golden Age, remembered for unforgettable roles in such films as Breakfast at Tiffanys (1961) and Roman Holiday (1953). Admired for her unique style, grace and class, Hepburn won the hearts of movie lovers around the world, throughout the years of her career.
The exhibition: Audrey Hepburn: Portraits of an Icon, which will be presented for public viewing until the middle of October, is a memorable journey through the life of the real legend. In more than 70 unique photographs, notable names such as Richard Avedon, Terry O’Neill and Norman Parkinson, captured moments known by many of us who are familiarized with Hepburn’s filmography. However, visitors will be also able to see those more private momments of her life, including those related to humanitarian activities, which Audrey was focused on later years.
Movie stills, magazine covers, unique photo shoots and behind-the-scenes images are just a few of topical photos prepared by organizers. Fans will also have an opportunity to see photographs, which show Hepburn’s beginnings on the London stage in the late 40s.
