Avril Lavigne has announced that she and Nickleback frontman Chad Kroeger have separated. In a post on her personal Instagram account Lavigne wrote “It is with heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today. Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we’ve created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support“.
Lavigne and Kroeger got engaged back in August 2012 and was married the year after in July 2013. This isn’t the first marriage for the “Complicated” singer. She was previously married to Sum41 frontman Deryck Whibley in 2006 but they ended up getting a divorce in 2009.
This separation might not come as a shock to everyone as US Weekly reported that Kroeger was partying with another woman back on August 18 “Chad came in with a woman and a security guard. He was down in the party pit by the stage, definitely out in clear, plain view, not in the private back VIP areas. He was saying that there aren’t that many places for him to go in Miami, he was happy to be there and be chill. He and the girl had a great time, they were dancing“.
