Julian Casablancas, frontman of American rock band The Strokes, has shared his cover of Velvet Underground 1967 hit “Run Run Run”. The song was revealed today (February 19) and it was recorded for the HBO series Vinyl, created and written by Mick Jagger, Martin Scorsese, Rich Cohen, and Terence Winter.
The original track appeared on Velvet Underground’s debut album The Velvet Underground & Nico, which was published in 1967 and, despite the initial lack of success, nowadays it is considered one of the most influencial rock albums of all times, rating at number 13 in the Rolling Stone’s list ‘500 Greatest Albums of All Time’.
