Hip hop heads are counting the hours until Friday the 12th of April. That’s the date the late great J Dilla‘s sixth posthumous The Diary is released, and this time around we not only get those sweet Dilla beats, but we also hear the man himself spit – and you best believe he can spit – over production from other hip hop luminaries such as Pete Rock and Madlib.
It’s the latter’s beat on display here, and The Sickness is Madlib at his dirtiest, bringing out the animal in Jay Dee, in truly venomous form. If that doesn’t already make for the ultimate track, Nas throws a few nasty bars in too.
