Afrobeats Artist TENI Returns With Catchy New Single ‘Money’

Nigerian-born singer, songwriter, and performer TENI has released her latest track, “Money,” through Artist House. Blending afrobeats, pop, and R&B, the song is a catchy yet thoughtful reflection on the relationship between wealth, fame, and personal fulfilment.

“Money” explores the complexities of happiness and financial success. Written during the COVID-19 lockdown, the song reflects TENI’s observations about wealth and uncertainty.

She Shares, “‘Money’ is a special song. I wrote it at the start of COVID, during lockdown. The world was shutting down, and there was fear and uncertainty. I had just returned to Nigeria from touring, and suddenly, everything stopped. People were struggling to provide for their families, and I wished I could help more.”

“Money” has an upbeat tone despite its introspective lyrics. TENI’s vocals offer urgency to the music, which also features deep bass and brilliant synths. The song balances themes of desire and emotional depth as it transitions from a vibrant beginning to a reflective chorus.

With recent appearances at Coachella, Madison Square Garden, and The MURAL Festival in Montreal, she has toured widely throughout Europe, North America, and Africa.

TENI, a BET and MTV EMA candidate, has won many awards. In recognition of her services to Nigerian music and culture, she was recently named an Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

Hit songs like Wait, Askamaya, Uyomeyo, Billionaire, For You, and No Days Off—which Rolling Stone named one of the best songs of 2023—have been released by TENI since her 2017 debut single “Fargin”. “Tears of the Sun”, her most recent CD, further demonstrates her skill and creativity.

“Money” provides an insight into TENI’s goals for 2025. Anyone balancing ambition and personal importance would find this track relevant as it combines upbeat beats with deeper reflection.
