Alicia Vikander is the toast of Hollywood after a wonderfully busy 2015, a year which saw her in lead roles for Ex Machina, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Burnt and The Danish Girl. For the latter, she is considered a favourite for the Oscars and she was nominated in both the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories for the Golden Globes.
After such a successful year in which she’s solidified her position as one of the most talented actresses of her generation, 2016 could be potentially bigger as she is due to star in the period romantic drama Tulip Fever alongside Christoph Waltz, The Light Between Oceans and the latest film in the Bourne franchise.
Little is known currently about Bourne 5 (even the title isn’t known) but Alicia Vikander has shed a little bit of light on her role, stating: “I’m very action-driven in this film, but it’s not in the way most people would think.” Intriguing. Matt Damon is making his comeback to the franchise as Jason Bourne, as is Paul Greengrass as director. Julia Stiles will be performing as one Nicky Parsons and Tommy Lee Jones will be stepping into the role of big bad as the director of the CIA Robert Dewey. Aside from this not much else is known, but keep your ear to the ground as we will no doubt learn more soon. Bourne 5 is due to be released July 29 by Universal.
