Anna and the Apocalypse is a Christmas-themed zombie musical that centres a zombie apocalypse which threatens the sleepy town of Little Haven at Christmas. The protagonist Anna and her friends are forced to fight their way to survival, facing a desperate race to reach their loved ones. However, they soon come to realise that neither of them is safe in this new world.
And the only people that they can truly rely on are each other.
The film is directed by John McPhail and written by Alan McDonald and Ryan McHenry. The genres include Comedy, Horror, Musical and the Performing Arts – A strange yet unique and interesting combination.
The Zombie Musical premiered at Fantastic Fest on September 22, 2017 and has received some reviews already on Rotten Tomatoes.
“Anna and the Apocalypse plays on every emotion to use a musical analogy, it’s a skeleton whacking its ribs like xylophone”.
“A knee-bouncing, zombie cracking adventure that has the guts to put its daring artistic vision forward without compromise. It’s sickly sweet and genuinely original”.
“A joyous celebration of zombies, musicals and Christmas”.
Orion Pictures will be releasing the film in the US in limited cheaters on 30th of November and is to expand nationwide on 7th of December.
