If you are not familiar with the Instagram ‘Towel Series’ Mario Testino has been doing lately… I don’t blame you, neither was I, but, apparently, the photographer has convinced almost every popular model, actress, starlet, to be part of this event. The ‘Towel Series’ are about showing some very familiar faces with a post-shower no makeup look… kind of like Testino’s first picture of the series, a very neutral and natural Kate Moss.
“When I first began using Instagram, I was at a shoot with Kate Moss and I saw her in her dressing room after a shower—she was in a robe and a towel on her head and I just decided to capture that moment and post it”, says Testino. The series caught my eye because the latest one to join this very, very particular project is the one and only Anna Wintour, Vogue Editor in Chief, with a portrait that was taken at the Mark hotel before this year’s Met Gala. Some of the other names to take part in this series are Lara Stone, Sean O’Pry, Georgia May Jagger, Sienna Miller, Cara Delevigne, Miley Cyrus, and the list could go on for a while.
