Ant-Man was a relative flop by Marvel’s standards, making only $178 million so far in revenue. This cemented its status as the third lowest grossing film in the Marvel cinematic universe – despite its relatively overall positive reviews. However, the film just had its opening weekend in China – and has already made $43.2 million over the last three days. This bodes well for Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man, and indicates that the film might prove more popular in Asia than it did in the West. It also means that the film has already topped the foreign box office charts, so it isn’t all doom and gloom for Ant-Man.
