Anthony Vaccarello has been named creative director of the Versace-owned label, Versus. The designer debuted his collection for the younger line in 2014 and generated success which led to his newly appointed role. Vaccarello is the first person to be named permanent creative director of the brand since Christopher Kane left in 2012. He will be in charge of designing both the men and women’s collection. The first collection in his new role will debut for Autumn/Winter 2015, but it has yet to be confirmed whether or not it will be in Milan Fashion Week. Donatella Versace, who is going to remain as artistic director and to whom Vaccarello will report to, said: “I’ve followed Anthony’s work from his very first collection; as soon as I met him I realised immediately he was the one, he gets it, his talent screams Versus Versace. I love his fresh energy and innovation, and I love being surrounded by a talent which brings newness to Versace“.
