Following more than a little controversy over Apple’s new streaming service from both the public and celebrities alike, Spotify’s biggest new competitor has scored its first exclusive track. When Pharrell Williams releases his new single “Freedom” on June 30, it will only be available through Apple Music. This is a huge win for the service as until last week, Williams held the record for the longest time one song was in the UK Top 40. “Happy” spent 49 weeks in the chart and was knocked off the spot recently by Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”. Both Apple Music and “Freedom” will be available from June 30.
