Two months after returning with rapper J. Cole for the music video in support of their collaborative new single “Shea Butter Baby“, Ari Lennox shares her plans for an anticipated new album, Shea Butter Love. Made up of 12 tracks including “Whipped Cream“, the new project is scheduled for release on May 7.
Ari Lennox shared her sentiments on the new project. “A lot of these songs I’ve been holding on to for a long time,” Lennox previously told to Billboard. “I just want the world to hear them. And then, finally, I can exhale.” Alongside a new album, she recently announced via Twitter the dates of her upcoming tour. Ari is finally back to snatch our wigs!
She promotes her upcoming project with her final single, “Up Late” featuring Masego on saxophone. Lennox describes the tune as a “neo-soul sexy sweet midnight delight”. She lustfully sings about a late-night encounter “Make your way to North Hollywood/ Target lingerie/ Kissing your lips dipped in backwood tips/ I been crushing on you”.
