After much speculation, the 2019 Coachella lineup has finally been announced and it is confirmed that Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande will be the headliners for this year’s festival.
Held in California in April and famed for its sunshine and feel good vibes, the festival stands as one of the most iconic in the world and features some of the biggest names in popular music and A-list guests.
Friday will see performances from Janelle Monáe, Anderson .Paak, Jaden Smith, dvsn and more with Gambino as the closer.
Saturday’s bill includes Solange, Kid Cudi, J Balvin, Wiz Khalifa, Virgil Abloh, Sabrina Claudio, SiR and Tame Impala as the main act.
It rounds off on Sunday, with performances from Pusha-T, Khalid, Bad Bunny, Playboi Carti, H.E.R., and finally Grande, who shared her excitement over her first Coachella booking via Twitter.
Coachella won’t be without UK talent as Ella Mai, Idris Elba, Little Simz, The 1975 and Gorgon City will be taking to the Coachella stage as well as African acts Mr Eazi and Burna Boy. After disputes over stage design, Kanye West will not feature.
Coachella is held every year on two consecutive three-day weekends with identical line-ups. Kicking of on the weekend of Friday, April 12 and eventually concluding on Sunday, April 21. Basic tickets for Coachella cost around £350 not including travel to California too.
