On the back of a stellar 2018 which saw him rack up millions of streams online and sell out his first two London shows, East London based vocal newcomer ARLO makes his entrance into 2019 with “Changing“, an intricate collaboration with Chicago rapper Mick Jenkins.
Wonderfully combining ARLO’s unique vocals and Mick Jenkins distinct flow, the track serves as another stellar entry into ARLO’s catalogue. It’s leftfield of pop in production but soulful in ARLO’s vocal delivery. Beautifully experimental and filled with adlibs, quirks and sprinkles of future bounce. And of course, nothing short of a glorious guest feature from Mick Jenkins.
Speaking on the track, ARLO states: “Changing is all about when you change but your friends don’t”. There’s so much attitude and bravado in the record. Having Mick jump on the track is a true blessing he killed his verse and bought a whole new energy to the record.”
With press support already from the likes Complex, Highsnobiety, The Line Of Best Fit, The Independent and more, 2019 looks set to be an exciting one for this up and comer. Keep a keen eye on ARLO as he moves towards his next project.
