Post-punk trio from Austin, Swiss Banks has just released an energetic yet moody piece “Make It Work”. The new Swiss Banks song “Make It Work” creates a gloomy fusion of post-punk and rock.
“This song really unifies the band more than any other. It really has the essence of what we all want, and probably represents the coalescence of all of our individual desires more than any other on the album,” the band says.
Consisting of drummer Joey Alves, guitarist Lane Fielder, and vocalist Adam Buhrman. The three came together initially to re-interpret R.E.M.‘s album Murmur.
The band also playfully explains how they came up with the idea of new release, “The idea of ‘Make It Work’ started out as this ridiculous riff that I came up with one day at work standing outside in 105 degree heat,” guitarist Lane Fielder says. “It got even more ridiculous when I brought it to the band and we laid it down.”
They quickly joined the ranks of legendary artists in the art-glam-goth genre, including The Smiths, David Bowie, and The Cure.
Swiss Banks, who have strong roots in the post punk of the 1980s, have developed a unique style of indie post punk that has been compared to Robert Smith listening to Morrissey cover Interpol.
