Nigerian pop rising star Bad Boy Timz, signed to independent label EMPIRE, has released the music video for his latest hit “Faya”.

Directed by Ahmed Mosh, the music video was shot in Lagos Island and brings the infectious jam to life with its vibrant colors and visual storytelling about young love, romance, and companionship. It captures Timz in his artistic element and showcases his infectious personality and captivating performance prowess.

Bad Boy Timz burst onto the scene just three years ago with the breakthrough hit ‘Check And Balance’ and has since gone from strength to strength, amassing over 80 million global streams, winning the ‘Rookie of the Year’ award at the Headies Award, and charting on the Billboard US Afrobeats Song Chart, among other achievements.

EMPIRE has brought 19 artists from six different African nations together to release its first-ever African compilation album, ‘Where We Come From (Vol. 1)’, featuring 15 exclusive new tracks from its glorious roster, including Fireboy DML, Asake, Kizz Daniel and Wande Coal.

The sounds traverse the East, West and South of the continent and incorporate drill, amapiano, trap, and Afrobeats. This project is a body of work created during the writing camp at EMPIRE’s headquarters in San Francisco, following their first showcase ‘The New Africa’ during SXSW.

Founded in 2010 by Bay Area native Ghazi Shami, EMPIRE is leading the digital music era with its innovative approach across its label, distribution, and publishing arms. With its focus on early-stage artist development, the San Francisco-based company has been instrumental in launching the careers of multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning artists such as Anderson.Paak, BLEU, Key Glock, Young Dolph, XXXTENTACION, and KingVon, among others.

EMPIRE forms a true partnership with each artist and label on its roster through bespoke deals that always favor the artist, coupled with its unique software for analytics, recoupment, and royalties, which offers a level of transparency unprecedented in the music industry.

In conclusion, with Bad Boy Timz’s ‘FAYA’ and EMPIRE’s ‘Where We Come From (Vol. 1)’, the future of African music looks bright, and fans of Afrobeats and African pop music have much to look forward to in the coming years.
