Bad Wave are two friends who ended up living together in Los Angeles. They are comprised of songwriter and producer. Their latest effort, “3AM”, is accompanied with apt visuals, indeed, very much suiting the music.
“3AM” is quirky, but has the slightly triumphant feel of the best songs and riffs from the classic rock era. Then it veers off somewhere else entirely, very weird. The middle section, a refrain complete with clapping hands, is quite satisfying until things slow down and chop up. A genre spanning performance, one that, though, seems to revert to, more than once, some reggae.
The video for the piece is a tad strange, apt, as said. It sees the two, respectively, donning medieval knight garb, and, also, a spacesuit. One is enchanted by a fair maiden, the other an alien. A peculiar dance follows, seemingly, rather than proceedings of a more carnal nature.
