This wouldn’t be the first time Beyonce has come under scrutiny for allegedly copying ideas from other artists. The latest claim is that the superstar has copied the visual concept for her track “Hold Up” from her number one album Lemonade.
Everyone by now knows what the video looks like; a scorned Beyonce walking down the street in a yellow Robert Cavalli dress, taking her baseball bat to any car she passes whilst explosions go off behind her. It has been praised by fans and critics as one of her best music videos to date.
But footage of Pipilotti Rist’s 1997 project “Ever Is Over All” has been unearthed to suggest that the music video for “Hold Up” is not the original spectacle that only Queen Bey could dream up. Take a look at the video for ‘Ever Is Over All’ below and decide for yourself.
