Bien Shares New Single ‘Wahala’ Featuring Adekunle Gold

Bien, the Grammy Award-winning artist and member of the Kenyan Afro-Pop band Sauti Sol, has released a new single titled “Wahala“. The track, featuring Nigerian star Adekunle Gold and rising artist ShineTTW, is set to be a summer anthem worldwide. Released under Sol Generation Records, “Wahala” is a vibrant Afrobeats track that blends diverse African musical influences.

“Wahala”, which means “trouble” in Nigerian Pidgin, is a celebration of African culture and sounds. The song fuses Kenyan-inspired drum patterns, South African lock drums, and Nigerian percussion, creating a rhythm that is both addictive and danceable. Produced by Remy Baggins, the song pays homage to the beauty of African women and the continent’s rich musical heritage.

Bien, known for his work with Sauti Sol, is no stranger to success. His debut solo album, Alusa, Why Are You Topless?, has already amassed over 70 million streams, making it a phenomenon in East Africa. This deluxe edition of the album, which features “Wahala,” includes five new tracks with collaborations from African superstars like Fally Ipupa and Rayvanny.

The collaboration between Bien and Adekunle Gold highlights the unity and creativity within the African music industry. “Any time a King from the East meets a King from the West, it is Wahala,” Bien said, reflecting on the seamless collaboration.

“Wahala” is a statement of African musical excellence, and Bien is set to bring this celebration to the US and Europe with a promotional tour in July and August.
