It’s one of the most largely anticipated nights in music and the Billboard Music Awards will not fail in hosting a celebration of this year’s biggest names.
The past twelve months have seen the careers of The Weeknd, Twenty One Pilots and Shawn Mendes propel into success and stardom so it goes as no surprise that they have been nominated for Top Artists. Their nominations run alongside Ariana Grande, Drake, Adele, Justin Beiber and The Chainsmokers who have all had a victorious twelve months.
Topping the nominations list are The Chainsmokers and Drake who both came out with 22 nominations, the record amount of nominations from any artist so far in the history of the awards. Adele currently holds record to the most amount of wins in one night, with a clean sweep of 12 awards in 2012, however Taylor Swift is the most decorated female of all time with 21 wins over her career.
This is followed by talented duo, Twenty One Pilots, with 17, 14 for Rihanna, 13 for The Weeknd and Queen B with 8.
The Chainsmokers hit double nominations in a number of categories including Top Hot 100 Song, Top Selling Song, Top Collaboration and Top Radio Song.
The BBMA will be hosted on the May 21 at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada, Lets hope the night brings us a few surprises! Who are you rooting for?
