Actress and model Emily Ratajkowski, who starred in Robin Thicke’s controversial video for “Blurred Lines”, is now embarrassed when she hears the song. When initially approached by Pharrell Williams, she didn’t like the idea of the video, saying that, “It was so bad. I was like, there is absolutely no way they could pay me enough money” but her mind was changed by the video’s director, Diane Martel, who made it seem more appealing.
It’s difficult to mention “Blurred Lines” without referring to the video’s reception amongst those who were convinced that it was ‘rapey’. Earlier this month, Ratajkowski said that she “didn’t feel objectified when I was making it. I felt like I was having a lot of fun as a sexual person“. Either way, she stated that she would “probably say no” if asked now, as she has “done enough nudity now”.
