Amidst the excitement for the Bode x Nike Astro Grabbers, attention has shifted to the collaborative clothing line. While the sneakers steal the show, the attire is also gaining attention.
Surprise, surprise! Bode and Nike’s clothing line has finally stepped into the spotlight after whispers of its existence. The unveiling showcases a vintage gym aesthetic, reminiscent of the 1970s.
Think short shorts that take you back in time and jerseys straight from Manhattan and Cape Cod. The collection is a blend of nostalgia and modern flair, with athletic tanks adorned with bows and sporty pins.
Completing the ensemble are warm-up trousers, coach jackets, and snug leggings, all branded with the iconic Swoosh. Fans can get their hands on the full lineup, including the Astro Grabber sneakers, starting April 18 on Bode’s website and May 1 on Nike’s SNKRS app.
Speaking of the Astro Grabbers, these sneakers are a tribute to vintage charm, featuring retro trinkets like baseball and tennis charms. The anticipation has been building since their debut in Bode’s FW24 preview.
As famous faces like Reneé Rapp and Kaia Gerber flaunt the kicks, excitement reaches new heights. Bode’s rendition of the Astro Grabber SP marks a significant moment, reviving a classic silhouette from 1974.
Designed by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman, the Astro Grabber was revolutionary for its waffle sole. Now, 50 years later, Bode pays homage with one-to-one remakes in original colorways.
The ‘Black’ boasts a sleek leather construction, while the ‘Natural’ opts for a canvas and suede blend. Both feature custom Bode branding and playful attachments on the laces.
Originally slated for a year-end release, the collection hits stores on May 1, offering a blend of heritage and innovation. While prices are yet to be confirmed, expect them to retail around £140 each.
Bode x Nike brings vintage vibes to the forefront, offering a nostalgic journey through retro-inspired fashion.
