With Brad Pitt directing the highly admired World War Z, his production company Plan B has turned their heads to Netflix, as they drive to succeed with instant streaming content. Based upon the book, The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan by Michael Hastings, Plan B is working on a film for Netflix titled War Machine, which will follow a commander whose reputation has got infamous for his innovative and extensive approaches.
With the battleground full of politics, troops and alliances out in the ground, all of the decisions are intwined and linked with each other. With Netflix executive Ted Sarandos hailing Pitt and David Michôd as “the perfect combination“, we can expect this collaboration to flourish with Pitt back on our screens… yet this time it’s not on the big one.
