DJ Derek, real name Derek Morris, has been reported missing after not getting in contact with friends or family for the last 3 weeks. The 73 year old is now officially a missing person. Avon and Somerset Police have issued an appeal for information about his whereabouts saying, “he was reported missing to us last night by his family. Anyone who has any information about his disappearance should call us on 101“.
Derek became a DJ in his mid 30’s and has collaborated with numerous artists including Massive Attack. Most recently he was featured in Dizzee Rascal’s single “Dirtee Disco” back in 2010. He has also played in various festivals including Glastonbury. On Facebook, his niece Jennifer pleaded for information saying: “Has anyone seen Derek in the last three weeks? This is urgent, please let us know. Police are now informed and he is being treated as a missing person“. Anybody with any information please contact the police, we hope he is found safe and well.
