Springsteen has a new boxset coming out on December 4, The Ties That Bind: The River Collection. Springsteen is continuing the boxset series of his classic albums, he has released two in the past with The Promise: The Darkness On The Edge Of Town Story released in 2010 and Born To Run: 30th Anniversary Edition released in 2005.
This time The River boxset will include The River album, the single album entitled The River: Single Album a.k.a. The Ties That Bind that was held back from being released in 1979. The River Outtakes, The Ties That Bind documentary, the legendary 1980 Tempe concert and The River tour rehearsals, all this being released on 4 CDs and 3 DVDs. Also, 148 page hardcover book containing 200 studio and live photographs.
Springsteen Vevo has already uploaded two songs, “The River” and “Ramrod” from the Tempe Concert and the unreleased song “Meet Me In The City”. Now they have revealed a new unreleased song called “Party Lights” with some lyrics that evolved into being on “Point Blank”, “He was gonna be your Romeo, you were going to be his Juliet, These days you don’t wait on Romeos You Just Wait on that welfare check“. Furthermore, Springsteen uses a verse which he wrote that he added to his cover of Tom Waits “Jersey Girl”. You can listen and watch the video below:
