Cage The Elephant sure aren’t messing around with latest single “Mess Around”. Now working with the Black Keys’ maestro Dan Auerbach, the Kentucky rockers perform a sound not too dissimilar from the Blues-Rock present in their new producer’s music catalogue. As well as offering yet another fantastically catchy hook we’re used to from Cage The Elephant which I’ll be singing well into next week, distorted guitars, a thumping beat and a guitar solo from Auerbach also makes it into the track. The single will appear on new album Tell Me I’m Pretty due for release on the 18th of December.
The music video is compiled of clips from the Lobster collection catalog, which is an online database that covers 60 years of cinema – from 1895 to the 1960’s. This goldmine of quirky, obscure and retro classics add to the hectic nature of this beautifully chaotic number. Click below to hear “Mess Around”.
