When you think of the singer-songwriter genre, you often think of a saturated market which is difficult to break. However, there seems to be a real diversity of sound developing within the genre over the recent years, exploring combinations with soul, electronic and hip-hop.
Introducing Callum Stewart. He combines his soft and distinct vocals that hold remnants of an early Ben Howard but with much more of a heavier production, an indie edge and modernism that is certainly needed within the alt-pop genre.
The new video to his most recent release, “The Dam”, was premiered on Wonderland Mag yesterday. It follows the turmoil yet hope of a young relationship. The video injects a large amount of color throughout, illuminating through the overall contrasting dark vintage-style visuals.
At just ninteen years old, the rising Irish star shows real promise for the future. Callum is supporting Frances at her Dublin date on April 1. Watch “The Dam” below:
