Pop sensation Camila Cabello is back to the game not with one, but with two new singles from her upcoming sophomore album Romance and a new music video to accompany one of the tracks.
Since the release of her debut studio album Camila in 2018, fans have been waiting for the 22-year-old Cuban artist to drop new music. Even though she unveiled a new collaboration with Shawn Mendes in June, the internationally acclaimed single “Señorita”, Cabello’s supporters have been looking forward to enjoying some new solo music from her.
Now, the moment has finally arrived! Last week, Camila took it to social media to announce that she would be releasing a new project really soon by uploading two teasing videos. Although she didn’t unveil any details about the type of project she was releasing, her followers were pretty sure it was going to be about music. Bingo!
Yesterday, the “Havana” hitmaker revealed two new singles from her forthcoming album, “Shameless” and “Liar”. Following the previous videos she has released to promote the new project, it is pretty clear that love, relationships and romance are going to be the main ingredients this time.
For “Shameless”, Cabello has dropped a Henry Scholfield-directed video to accompany, which shows the artist confessing her sins to a priest, running away from someone and watches desperately how her crush is flirting with another girl at a party. “I need you more than I want ya” Cabello sings on the chorus in a heartbreaking scenario.
“Liar” seems to be the continuation of the previous single. The singer reveals her frustration as she realises she is falling deeper and deeper in love with the guy.
About the album, Camila gave some new details in a statement. “These songs are basically the story of my life the past couple years and the stories I’ve accumulated,” she said. “I knew for a long time I wanted my album to be called Romance because these stories are about falling in love.”
