Charlize Theron is not a name you traditionally associate with laugh-out-loud parenting comedies, but then again they’re not the kind of films Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody produce; just look at Young Adult. Having impressed with that film, the creative trio are now working on a new film about motherhood with Reitman to direct, Cody to write and Theron to star.
Hopefully the film will be a return to form for both Reitman and Cody, who have underwhelmed with their most recent projects (Reitman was behind Labor Day and Cody wrote Ricki and the Flash).
Theron, on the other hand, is being kept extremely busy. Starring as the Evil Queen in The Huntsman: Winter’s War, she also has a string of spy thrillers lined up including The Coldest City and The Gray Man, she is leading Sean Penn‘s The Last Face, and she may have a villains role coming up in Fast & Furious 8.
It is unknown when the trio’s examination of parenthood will emerge, but based on the success these three have together, it would be unwise to miss out.
