Chic have well and truly got here groove back on as there comeback disco album is set to release this year with a multitude of high-profile collaborations including Janelle Monae, Lady Gaga and Miguel. The group, who formed in 1976, is managed and were formed by guitarist Nile Rodgers. Nile told The Washington Post that the new album would be a wash of names and Chic style.
Nile Rodgers has been very busy resonantly, working on the David Bowie Grammy tribute with Lady Gaga. He was described as the perfect choice for the job after he produced the original ‘Let’s Dance’ in 1983. He is definitely the man with the connections as he described Miguel and him as “Brothers in Soul” and first worked with Janelle on Duran Duran‘s lead single “Pressure Off” from the album “Paper Gods”. Chic will be on tour with Duran Duran until August 3 so we might have a bit of a wait before we get some new music.
