Marvel is gearing up to roll out the latest wave of films in its ever-expanding Cinematic Universe. It’s the turn of neurosurgeon turned Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange, a project of passion for Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige and a bold new story to hit cinemas. It’s now been confirmed that 12 Years A Slave actor Chiwetel Ejiofor will take the role of Strange’s enemy Doctor Mordo, according to Deadline.
The site reports that directors are making the character an “amalgamation of characters culled from Doctor Strange’s mythology” – leaving the door open for some interesting twists. He’ll join Benedict Cumberbatch, playing the title role, and Tilda Swinton, scheduled to appear as Strange and Mordo’s monk mentor The Ancient One in the Scott Derrickson-directed flick. Shooting is set to begin in November with a scheduled released date in November 2016.
