Chris Brown has criticised the casting of Joseph Fiennes as Michael Jackson in the upcoming TV comedy, Elizabeth, Michael & Marlon. The rapper disapproved of a white actor portraying the African American King of Pop, so he took to Twitter to express some rather disrespectful thoughts. “I don’t support that corny ass shit!”, he tweeted, claiming that if Fiennes gets to play Jackson, then he should be allowed to “be Superman”.
Y'all know y'all dead wrong to have dude play MJ. If that's the case LET ME BE SUPERMAN. Da fuck they do that at? Is that blackface?

However, the actor himself had already justified this decision a couple of days ago. “I’m a white, middle-class guy from London. I’m as shocked as you may be… [Michael Jackson] definitely had an issue – a pigmentation issue – and that’s something I do believe. He was probably closer to my colour than his original colour.” Fiennes told Entertainment Tonight.
Elizabeth, Michael & Marlon will be a one-off 30-minute comedy, based on a road trip that Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando allegedly took together, after the 9/11 terror attacks. Although this rumour was never confirmed, the comedy will explore the funny interactions among the three. Taylor will be played by Stockard Channing, while Brian Cox will play Brando.
