Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt has apologised for being insensitive towards those with impaired hearing.
In a Facebook video, which has since been taken down from the Marvel facebook page, the actor encouraged fans to “turn up the volume, not just read the subtitles“, when watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. This caused outrage to many who rely on subtitles due to their hearing impairment.
Posting a video to his Instagram account, Pratt made an apology in American Sign Language, while writing a comment that his wording was “incredibly insensitive to those who rely on subtitles“. He also took the opportunity to encourage Instagram to add subtitling to the app. “Get on it Instagram!” He wrote.
