Chris Stapleton‘s poignant new music video for “Fire Away” tracks a young person’s mental deterioration, likely as a result of depression. It starts with a couple moving into a new house with both of them, particularly the young person in question, acting in a fun-loving way that could rival the happiest of relationships.
Hints of unrest pop up here and there until the happy moments become sparse and are cut out completely at the end.
The video, which promotes mental-health-themed website Change Direction, is directed by Tim Mattia and features a small cameo by Stapleton. Watch the video below:
