Chris Wills is back with his latest single, “Know My Name,” a reflective and personal track that showcases his growth as both an artist and a person.
Teaming up with producer Steven Colyer (Ethel Cain), Wills blends elements of classic rock with a modern edge. The song draws on influences like Bruce Springsteen, Journey, and Butch Walker, while also introducing a unique style that is unique.
Chris Wills wrote “Know My Name” during a period of personal struggle. Coming out of a two year depression, he found clarity when a close friend shared an insightful message: “We all get to choose what we believe.” This simple, yet profound, statement resonated with Wills and gave him the emotional breakthrough he had been searching for.
The song captures this moment of realisation and is a reflection of his journey through difficult times. In the first verse, he sings: “That we all get to choose what we believe,” which ties back to the conversation that helped him overcome the fog of his depression. The track is a celebration of resilience, belief, and personal growth, offering a relatable message for anyone navigating their own challenges.
“Know My Name” is both dynamic and engaging, the track has a strong, driving rhythm with clean, impactful production. The electric guitar plays a magnetic melody that stands out throughout the song, adding layers of texture and energy.
