Christina Hendricks, Anna Camp, and Alysia Reiner are set to headline Egg, a dark comedy from best selling author Risa Mickenberg (Taxi Driver Wisdom, 1996). GLOW alumna Marianna Palka directs the motherhood tale.
Each of the actresses are well established; Hendricks rose to fame as Joan Holloway in Mad Men, Reiner as Natalie Figueroa in Orange is the New Black, and Camp as Aubrey in Pitch Perfect, set for its third installment. David Alan Basche and Gbenga Akinnagbe will also star.
According to Variety, “Reiner will play a conceptual artist while Akinnagbe will play her passive-aggressive feminist husband presenting a radical alternative to motherhood. Hendricks will portray her pregnant art school rival with Basche playing her money-hungry spouse. Camp will portray a surrogate for Reiner’s character.“.
Production on Egg will begin at the end of the summer in New York.
