Claire Foy is set to play the lead character in the upcoming British thriller Marlow.
The pitch of this eight-part thriller is centered on the story of two families from the ‘Edgelands, the Thames estuary region, who have long been rivals, the Marlows and the Wyatts.
The star actress of The Crown will play Evie Wyatt, who returns to her born region, where she lost her father in a firestorm 15 years ago, in search of answers and to find out what really happened.
However, the war and the grudges between the two families are far from being over and Evie will find herself caught up in these conflicts, especially in front of her ageing rival Tom Marlow. This British thriller focuses on myths and legends about “ancient tales of revenge and fate“.
The forthcoming release has been created by BAFTA-winner Tony Grisoni, and Simon Maxwell, who will both produce alongside Claire Foy.
The actress seems delighted to be working with the two producers as she stated:
“I’m delighted to be a part of this compelling thriller. Tony and Simon’s scripts are so evocative of place and redolent with atmosphere – and the twists, turns and mysteries at the heart of this drama are utterly gripping. Evie Wyatt is such a captivating, complex and beguiling character, much like the enigmatic ‘Edgelands’ which she calls home, and I can’t wait to get to step into her shoes”.
The show from Motive Pictures and Endeavor Content will shoot next fall and will premiere on BritBox in 2022. We advise you to stay tuned for more updates on this promising project.
