It was not for holiday, nor a romantic journey with his beloved Amal, but it was for work. Today George Clooney was involved a motorbike accident in Sardinia, where he is shooting for mini-series Catch-22.
He got lightly injured on a knee and was taken by ambulance to John Paul II Hospital in Olbia. He was driving around Costa Corallina, when he collided against a car that was turning.
It seemed not be a serious accident and the Hollywood star has already been released, but needs recovery and physiotherapy to repair the damage. It is still uncertain if what happened will affect his participation in the series.
Catch-22 a six-part adaptation of Joseph Heller’s anti-war classic novel, which Clooney is directing, producing and starring in. His fellows in the cast are the famous Dr. House interpreter Hugh Laurie, the Manchester By The Sea star Kyle Chandler, and Italian actor Giancarlo Giannini.
This role will mark Clooney’s return to the small screen, since he broke out on the medical drama E.R. in the early 1990s. The 57-years old actor hopefully will recover soon and go back to work.
Catch-22 is about the story of Yossarian, a US Air Force bombardier in World War II.
The upcoming drama mini-series is set to premiere next year on Hulu in the US, on Channel 4 in the UK, and Sky Italia in Italy.
