GB records’ Corleone releases new track, “The Boss”, featuring Young Adz and Chelski Lauren, introducing the track ever so brooding with those tinkling keys. The backdrop is generally quite kicked back, as are the vocals for the most part, but those rattling drum machine drums are quite animated.
The hook, sung by Lauren, is soulful, maintaining that overall vibe. Aspects of her voice might remind one of Charli XCX, while the whole song might be a nod to a James Brown song of the same name. Corleone appears to make a direct reference to the late Godfather of Soul, with, “it costs to be the boss”.
