Indie heroes Courteeners have unveiled a brand new track entitled “Summer” which is off their new album Concrete Love which will be released on August 18th. The new song is described perfectly by its name, as it will be a perfect piece of music for the summer season and is sure to be on everyone’s summer playlist. Courteeners’ charismatic singer/songwriter Liam Fray admits that, “it’s the quickest song I’ve ever written. I wrote it in five minutes and it was just like, wow“.
He is absolutely right, “Summer” is just such a free and easy song that will lift your spirits with its bouncy riffs and the tinges of Blues that coincide perfectly with their Pop edge, and the fact that it was written so quickly is a true demonstration to how talented Mr Fray really is. The song may be written quickly but it has a real distinctive sound that is different from what they have done before and it stands its ground against all the other tracks that as a band they have created.
