Boyle, Danny Boyle, has been confirmed as director of the 25th James Bond film, which is due for release in the UK on October 25 next year.
The Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting filmmaker will be using a script based on his own idea, and written by his longtime collaborator John Hodge.
The follow-up to 2015’s Spectre will see Daniel Craig back for his fifth film as 007, likely for the final time. Production is set to begin on December 3.
“We are delighted to announce that the exceptionally talented Danny Boyle will be directing Daniel Craig in his fifth outing as James Bond in the 25th installment of the franchise” the longtime producers stated in a press release. “We will begin shooting Bond 25 at Pinewood Studios in December with our partners at MGM and thrilled that Universal will be our international distributor”.
