After nearly 3 years, the silence has been broken. In terms of volume, Daughter aren’t back with a bang, but rather a soft sombre tune which is just emotionally epic and moving as the loudest of bangs. According to a press release by 4AD, “‘Doing The Right Thing’ concerns the delicate subject of dementia and its debilitating, all-pervading effect on family”.
That’s right! The one-word track titles are over, with a single which encompasses a dark setting, drawing listeners in to this sonically and lyrically superior song. The new album Not To Disappear will be released on the 15th of January via 4AD/Glassnote. However, fans will be offered a chance to hear new tracks such as “Doing The Right Thing” off their upcoming album as Daughter will be visiting Glasgow, Bristol and London this November.
