Virginia Grohl, the mother of rock legend, Dave Grohl, wrote a book called “From Cradle To Stage: Stories From The Mothers Who Rocked And Raised Rock Stars”. It’s about what’s it like to be the mother of a rock star.
She spent two years talking to other rock star’s moms, like Janis Winehouse (Amy Winehouse) and Donna Haim (HAIM). In her book she also opens up about raising her son. Dave wrote the forward for the book and a photo of his mom and him is the book cover.
Virginia asked them questions like “Were they as surprised as she was about their children’s fame? Did they worry about their children’s livelihood and well-being in an industry fraught with drugs and other dangers? Did they encourage their children’s passions despite the odds against success, or attempt to dissuade them from their grandiose dreams? Do they remind their kids to pack a warm coat when they go on tour?”
