Tragedies like the Boston marathon bombing are heartbreaking, the stories are compelling, and full of emotional depth, unsurprisingly, a number of films have been commissioned to tell the stories of those involved in the awful event. Jeff Bauman’s book is one that is to be turned into a movie, with John Pollono adapting the script, Lionsgate have now hired David Gordon to direct the film.
The Boston Marathon Bombings were a tragedy that left three killed, hundreds injured, and Boston shell shocked. One of the hundreds injured in the bombings was Jeff Bauman who went on to write a book about the trauma that he went through. Jeff Bauman’s story is a heart wrenching one – caught in the bombings whilst waiting at the finish line of the race for his girlfriend, Bauman lost both of his legs when two pressure cooker bombs exploded. In his book, he chronicles the bombings, his recovery and his role as a key witness in the trial of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, one of the surviving bombers.
