With news only just breaking of Amy Landecker‘s casting in the Marvel Studios film, Doctor Strange has now added actor and martial artist Scott Adkins to the cast of its fantasy superhero film. Adkins joins a cast that also includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen and Michael Stuhlbarg.
Adkins isn’t a household name, most of his starring roles being in direct-to-DVD action flicks, but he has appeared in small roles in a number of major blockbusters including Zero Dark Thirty, The Expendables 2 and The Bourne Ultimatum. The actor is also no stranger to comic book movies, having served as Ryan Reynolds‘ stunt double on X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Adkins can next be seen in the Louis Leterrier-directed action-comedy The Brothers Grimsby starring Sacha Baron Cohen and Mark Strong. Doctor Strange is being directed by Scott Derrickson from a script by Jon Spaihts for a November 4 2016 release.
