Earlier this week, Meek Mill jumped on the Twitter feud bandwagon by saying that Drake doesn’t write his own lyrics. Drake himself has been the bigger man by keeping quiet about these allegations until this weekend, when he premiered his new track “Charged Up” on his Beats 1 OVO Sound radio show, along with two other brand new tracks.
This new track sees Drake addressing Meek Mill, with lyrics such as, “I’m honoured that you think this is staged, I’m flattered man in fact I’m amazed”, “done doing favours for people ’cause it ain’t like I need the money I make off a feature. I see you n****s having trouble going gold, turning into some so and so’s that no one knows“, and “come and live all your dreams out at OVO. We gonna make sure you get your bread and you know the ropes“.
This track is apparently against what Mill publicly announced on Twitter and it seems as though Drake is less than impressed with it. To be fair, this is a miles better way to respond than in Tweet form which Mills did after the song was aired by saying: “Baby lotion soft” and “I can tell he wrote that 1 tho“. Doesn’t look like this feud will end anytime soon. It would be awesome if everybody responded to rants and disses in music form. Listen to Drake’s Charged Up below.
