East London Artist Rio Rainz Unveils New Single ‘BAD!’

East London’s dynamic singer-rapper, Rio Rainz, returns with his latest release, “BAD!” This vibrant track, produced alongside Oscar Moos – known for his work with Flohio and Col3trane – captures a playful, high-energy vibe.

His artistic flair shines in “BAD!”, where he blends alt-R&B and rap effortlessly. Rio explains, “‘BAD!’ has a high-energy feel that makes you want to move and feel a bit vain. It’s about embracing your mischievous side and breaking away from conventions and expectations. It encourages you to take risks and celebrate your individuality without worrying about judgement.

Born to Irish and Jamaican parents in East London, Rio’s musical journey began early. He started performing at church and attending performing arts school at six. His love for music and performing blossomed, allowing him to share his personal experiences through introspective lyrics. At fifteen, Rio burst onto the scene with a powerful Black Box freestyle, quickly gaining attention and acclaim.

Last year, Rio released his EP, Cobwebs in My Room, a six-track project that solidified his place in the UK DIY scene. This EP was followed by a sold-out headline show at The Lower Third, establishing his presence in the music industry.

Rio’s genre-fluid sound and unique perspective, which values genuine connections over modern trends, set him apart. His music is a rich tapestry of diverse inspirations, creating a multi-layered experience that resonates widely. Comparisons to artists like Berwyn, Jim Legxacy, and Bakar highlight his unique position in the music landscape.

With “BAD!”, Rio Rainz is cementing his place as one to watch in the UK DIY scene. His fusion of alt-R&B and rap, paired with an authentic and introspective approach, marks him as an artist to watch closely.

The music video, directed by RAD Films, is a colorful visual feast, showcasing Rio as he cruises through London’s streets in a vintage car.
